I am fairly new here and still learning my way around. I am comforted to know I am not alone with deep depression. It's good to have others to share with. My depression started with job stress, which keeps increasing. Then my physical health got bad in summer of 2013. I kept having stomach problems which I tried to ignore and treat on my own. I even came off my Prozac cold turkey because I thought that might be the cause of my stomach problems. When I finally went to the ER they found I had a bad gallbladder. I had surgery. Thought I was having day surgery, but they had to do extensive surgery because my gallbladder was severely inflamed. Then I tried to go back to work too early before I was healed. Very few people were sympathetic at work and I had trouble healing. In January a new company took over our office and made things even worse. I have an unreasonable workload. One person quit and others are talking about quitting. Today is the first day I felt physically good in a long time and I am thankful. Appreciate any help.

Hi water, sorry to hear about your health. I'm glad they caught the gallbladder problem, and that you are finally feeling physically good after a long time. I wonder if you could ask a doctor now for the Prozac back, or if he thinks this caused any stomach problems. It may not have been the cause, and could be what you need, is medication to help you out of this deep depression, and may help you deal with stress at work. welcome here, I hope you find your way around and keep posting. It is good to share with others, many here suffer as well, and it's great knowing we aren't alone.

I am very glad I found this site too.

If your depression started with job stress and you never had it before that then it is probably highly treatable. Maybe meds and therapy will work very well to cope with the stress or you can somehow eliminate the stress. I am glad they caught the gall bladder thing and that you are healing that had to be huge stress in itself.

Depression loomed largely in my life in 2012 - joined this site, and with the help of this and the Samaritans, I did have my life saved. I'm back in 2014, corresponding and recovering (I hope)...
