You would think people are smart, FAR from it! They are stupid!! I hate people. One thing that kept me alive is that I could go outside in the backyard and look at the stars. A few days ago a neighbor put up a very bright light right in my view. I can't look in any other direction, because of other lights. I went up to them and talked to them and they seemed very understanding and said they would turn it out when I wanted to look. I called them and asked them to turn it out tonight and they said NO and then said they were putting an alarm in with a camera and saying it is there right. ........ them! No one understands anything! There are billions of dollars lost because of bad unshielded lighting, our dark skies are lost. My life is lost. Can someone end it for me? I'm serious, I do not want to go on! I worked with the township about this issue, the police, the people themselves. It is no use, there is are only two solutions. One is to move away, but with no money I can't do that, so the only other way is..........I swear I will speed my car into something or someome if this world does not start to change!

I'm sorry you feel the world should be the way you want it to be. Demanding that just can't make it happen. Your situation is frustrating and I can appreciate you wanting to be able to enjoy the night sky and it is a shame your neighbors can't be accommodating.

????

I don't know, but I was wondering if you could put up something to block the neighbor's light?

I have tried doing that, but if I block out the light with something, I also block out half the sky. I know people can have lights, but people need to understand what lights to use and what not to use. It looks like a full moon lighting up the sky. How can I block that? I'm not attacking anyone, I'm attacking bad lighting and people need to understand it! Please understand.

I know some of you people are trying to help me and some disagree with me and I know it is christmas and it is suppose to be a time of happiness, but I'm sick with a cold, and it is 10:30 pm here and in 2 hours I'm going to ride my bike a mile away and sit in a nice semi dark area and hope I get really sick and end it. Unless someone can give me some hope. I'm begging for help, please help!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be disrespectful or unsupportive. I was hoping I was helping by offering a solution but I can see it isn't a solution after all.

I wish I knew of a way to help.

Wanting to end it all is a way of saying how much pain you are in, not something that needs to be acted on. You are certainly in a lot of pain right now. It's good to get fresh air, even when sick with a cold; I hope you will take care to bundle up when you go out!

Tell me what I can to to help.

Something you and everyone can do, is research bad lighting and then you will see just how big a deal it really is. Darksky.org is a great place to go. I wish people would think before install lighting. Like who it would affect and where the light goes. Another thing that one can do is spread this issue around. Although, nothing will ever change. Why? Why can't the world be a better place? Well, I'm off. I don't know if I will come back or not.

Take care!
