Hi,

I've just joined here and would ideally like to join a UK based forum. In the meantime I'll hang out here for a while.

Having been through the depression cycle a few times now I have some idea of what you're going through. I hope I can make some sort of contribution to the community of sufferers.

Hang in there folks,

MIH.

Hello,

There are quite a lot of us from the UK here and many other parts of the world too. I've really benefited from PC and get a lot out of being here. There is a UK group starting up on PC.
Here's a link to the thread: https://forums.psychcentral.com/othe...shout-out.html
and a link to the group: http://forums.psychcentral.com/group...britannia.html

Hope PC helps you as much as it helps me.

Hello Miracle I'm Here, nice to meet you and welcome to Psych Central! I would say to stick around here, there are a lot of us Brits here and believe me I have tried other forums and they really aren't as good as this one! I have been here 8 years now! Hugs

I agree with pegasus. I have used a couple of UK forums but I much prefer this one. It is much more active. And the fact that we are all from different parts of the world means that there are nearly always people online. If you are interested the only one I can remember is Talk Depression

Hope you stick around here though

Yeah, I know that Mind have a chat function on their boards... but it's in the style of facebook... very hard to follow and conversation is really hard as posts get knocked off the first page fast. Hated it.

Stuck with here since.

Welcome OP welcome. Even if this is not a UK thread we can all share our experiences about depression and contribute to this community. Welcome again :-)

Well I say 'Aye' to that! Having only just dipped my toe in the water here, I've been stunned at the kindness you've all shown. Straight off the bat I've had helpful suggestions, links to groups and welcoming and friendly messages. I think I've got lucky finding this community and I'll stick around. It seems to be extremely well setup and administered too. The UK group might help with some common issues we face by being in the same country and also brings the possibility of meeting up, if that is appropriate. Having said that, I also think that humanity is fundamentally the same all over the globe, so the more people we can share with the better!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
