So I just got it today, and I don't know much about it. It's a 10 MG tablet.

What's your experience with this drug?
The tablet seems very small, is it small but powerful?
What happens if I miss a dose, how will my emotional and mental state be? (I know if I miss a dose I should immediately take it unless its almost time for my next dose then I should just wait for my next dose)
Have any advice you should give me about taking this?
How can it have an impact on me if I take it at bedtime? I don't understand how this drug can affect me during the day if I take it at night.
When will I begin to notice results?

Also, when I went to the drs yesterday, I didn't mention that (at the time I went to the drs) I took a St. John's wort pill 28 hours previously. I'm planning on taking my first dose of Paroxetine at around 10 PM tonight, which means I wouldn't have taken St. John's wort in more than 48 hours (I think, the last time I took St. John's wort was on Thursday st around 5 PM, I live in the California region FYI). So will it be safe to take this medicine? FYI Thursday was my first dose of St. John's wort In over 7-9 months. So I didn't take the pill everyday previous to Thursday, Thursday was my first day in 7-9 months.

So will it be safe to take my Paroxetine dose after 48+ hours of taking a St. John's wort pill? Since I took St. John's Wort 48 hours ago for the first time in 8 months, will it be safe to take Paroxetine for the first time? When would be a safe time to take Paroxetine? Should I wait an entire week or is 48 hours sufficient enough?

I've taken Paxil before. I can't speak for everyone because everyone has a different experience with this medication. Paxil seem to work for me in the beginning, but overall it didn't work for me. I hated the side effects, I felt nauseous and had headaches. My therapist said it was best to take meds in the morning, but I took them right before I went to bed because I hated the side effects. Don't be alarm the side effects do go away eventually.

It's best if you talk to your doctor about taking other medication while taking Paroxetine. Also, talk your doctor about your concerns and questions regarding Paroxetine.
Thanks for this!

I heard Paroxetine causes major weight gain, and I'm working out really hard so I can get a good body. So will this drug stop my progress?

Check this out, its the forum for psychiatric medication on PC:Psychiatric Medications - Forums at Psych Central. I think you will get better answer there rather the depression forum.

To answer your question, I was fortunate to not gaining weight while on this medication. Everyone's has different experience with this medication and people bodies reacts to this medication differently.

But if you are exercising regularly, you should be fine. You may or may not notice any weight gain.

Keep us updated and best of luck

You should wait 2 weeks, I was taking an herbal MAOI supplement and my psychiatrist recommended that I stay off of it for 2 weeks before he prescribes me anything. I would heed his advice. The drug interactions could be very dangerous.

My experience with Paxil was horrible, see my post on my brief experience with it in the psychiatric medications forum bohemiangirl85 linked you to. But everybody's body and brain is different. One man's trash is another person's treasure I suppose. Plus I was too young to be taking Paxil.

St. John's wort is *very* dangerous in combination with some psych meds.

I used paroxetine for quite a while. It helped at first but then stopped. I put on quite a bit on it but then all side effects are different on different people and most affect weight, I don't think there are any that weight isn't mentioned in side effects.

I took it for twelve weeks.

Made me hypomanic/ constant euphoria 7 weeks in.

Then my moods start cycling from day to day.

I couldn't orgasm(male).

I would ejaculate when ever I did number 2.

paxil helped the depression for a short window.

Maybe you'll have better luck

I called my pharmacist and she said because I only took it once I should be safe. The first day of taking or (or second I forgot) I felt so weird. Like everything was going slow and I was very slow with responses.

That's the only difference I've noticed with 10 MG so far. Hopefully I will see improvements by school starts. St. John's wort didn't seem to work so much when i took it before

Wow - poop ejaculation! Just curious, was that experience good or bad for you? Sorry - I'm a girl........ I had read that it can cause the inability to orgasm.
