Is it normal to feel depressed when you don't have any friends? I have difficulty with maintaining friendships. All my friendships have fallen apart...for the most part. I begin to feel extremely sad when I'm not in school because I don't have anyone to talk to (in person) besides family.

A lot of people get depressed when they don't have any friends. You are normal. We are a social people. During the summer try volunteering at a charity of some sort. It will get you out of the house and may you can find some friends. Volunteering can also boost your self-esteem. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses. gayleggg: Currently, I live with my parents; they dislike it when I volunteer...so I'm pretty much "stuck". I sometimes go out for a walk to relieve my depressed feelings. I learned that exercise and sunlight improves mood because your body releases serotonin. Useless: I think we're all crazy in a way... No one is completely normal.
