This summer there are three really special things happening in my town. One will likely never happen here again, the other two events might come round again.

I would like to go to all of these events, but I can't face doing any of these fantastic things alone, especially as one is expected to have 100,000 visitors. I do so much alone and can usually cope, so why not now? I don't want to be alone among so many people. I don't have friends I can ask, and trying to find someone to go with on a friendship website is too scary and anyway I'd still be on my own with a stranger, they wouldn't be able to share the memories with me afterwards.

The choice is bleak, I can go on my own or just not go, either way the loneliness wins.

There was a music festival a few days ago in my town with 120,000 attendees too and I wanted to go but I don't have any friends either so I didn't go. You should go, I regret it so much.

I'll regret not going, but I won't be able to enjoy myself if I do go. Having someone to go with would force my mood for a little while, I wouldn't want to put a downer on things for them. On my own, there would be no reason to even try to lift my mood, I'd probably spend the whole day crying. It's totally weird crying in public, everyone stares but no one ever reaches out.
