I was finally doing well and then my T decides to tell me she is retiring. Now I feel myself starting to slip again. It feels like such a pathetic reason to fall into that black hole again over but I just can't seem to stop it.

Sorry to hear that...I don't suspect that the retirement is happening in a short amount of time...maybe there is time for you to talk out those feelings in your next session. It's not a pathetic reason. Therapists play an important role in a person's life. Hope that you can hold on and keep doing well.

Losing a T is difficult; no way to get around it. Situation permitting, tackle this head-on with your retiring T. She may be able to lessen the impact of the transition.
