Hola! How is everyone? I hope that I can get to know everyone better . I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Topamax? My doctor thinks I have bipolar 2 and wants to start me on that with my 200 mg zoloft. He told me that Topamax is not FDA approved yet. Should I worry? Thanks for listening!

I think so. Bienvenidos. My neurologist wanted to put me on Topamax for the seizures... but my GP, who knows me well and is really a caring physician said NO -- too many bad side effects. Just thought you'd wanna know. There are other meds you can try first I think.

Hello,
I took Topomax when I first came around about 3 years ago, and had very negative effects. For me I had terrible Migrane headachs, and confusion to the point of not know where I was going in the car. I stopped taking it as a result. Also, I know the drug induced Anorexia in two people who I know, they had never had an eating disorder, the drug itself caused their apetites to cease, and one ended up in the hospital for lack of nourishment and dehydration. She is now eating again since the drug was dicontinued. I would discuss these side effects with your physician, and ask if there is anything that would help you with less side effects.

Peace~ CHRIS
