I'm just wondering if anyone else has appetite problems associated with depression. I lose mine all together. I don't feel like eating or drinking anything, and if I try, I gag when I try to swallow. I've been having mood swings, and when my mood is up, I can eat and drink, but just a little. My stomach feels like it's full of concrete, very mild nausea, no vomiting. Sometimes I don't realize how depressed I am until I try to eat and it refuses to go down!

Yes, some people eat more when depressed, and some people just don't feel like eating. You are obviously in the latter category.

when people are depressed sometimes its like being in shock, so, yes, the appetite is affected.
if prolonged - it can get into anorexia - where there may be control and ego issues.
you must address what is making you depressed. until you do, you shall probably always feel this way and have these problems.

Thank you for your concern. I am not in any danger of anorexia. I have gotten help and am feeling better now. I just hadn't heard of anyone having this particular problem, and wondered how common it is.
