I've been chatting with one of my friends and he's been triggering my depression to the point that I have to go to bed and sleep it off. I only sleep off my depression when it is really bad. Oh well, I guess I will go hit my bed and sleep it off again. I just wish I knew what it was that was triggering my depression so much.

Hi pamelasu, if you can't think what it was in the conversation that triggered your depression, ,my guess is that it's something from your past that you aren't fully aware of. I hope you feel better soon!

Pamelsu,
Have you been friends with this person a long time? Does he talk about topics that are triggers for you? Does he talk to you like you are weak? Just some ideas. EJ |

All that I can think of is that it's something from the past sneaking up on me that is triggering it. I am normally happy when I talk to him but sometimes my feelings sneak up on me without warning. I hate feeling this way. I'm ready for bed.

Hi pamelasu,
I often also sleep off depressive feelings. As to what may be triggering those feelings when talking to your friend, I'll just share my experience which is that I am very conflict aversive so if someone intentionally or unintentially says something and I feel angry or upset, I tend to push that feeling down, and it triggers my depression. I suppose this supports the theory that often depression is anger turned inward. For what it's worth... Take care and I hope you wake up feeling better Meta
