Hi everyone, I'm new to this support group. I hope I'm posting correctly.
A little history: I've suffered from treatment-resistant clinical depression since I was 12 years old, I'm now 58. I've been in therapy since the 70's. I've tried every medication there is, hypnosis, acupuncture, ... Nothing has worked. Does anyone have any experience with TMS? I've tried for 2 years to get my insurance to pay for it, but they won't. It costs $275 - $300 per session and at least 25 sessions would be needed. There is only 1 dr in my state who performs this procedure. I've appealed to his compassion, but to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I am doing TMS right now. I've been talking about it in the "Other Treatments" forum.
Other Treatments - Forums at Psych Central I am only four days in so I don't know if it's going to work yet. I am lucky that it's mostly covered by my insurance. It will end up costing me around $700 by the end because I have a copay every time I go. |

I did six weeks of it but it didn't do anything. I am questioning whether the pdoc did it right. I have heard they are finding it doesn't work with cyclical ddepression like I have. You may want to check out ketamine.
