Does anyone here think diet helps with mood and especially energy? What do you eat? I'm going back to work, it's a physically demanding job and I desperately need suggestions for getting my energy back.

When I was doing well (as in non-depressed), I made a point of eating five small meals a day. It was a very well-balanced diet without a lot of carbs and with a lot of protein. It is a diet that personal trainers recommend; it's a low-glycemic diet so that there were not any sugar crashes. Check with your docs, but in general that diet worked very well for me. I don't do it now, mainly because I'm very depressed and even eating one meal a day is an achievement - (lost my appetite). Perhaps you can find help on a site that I found useful called myfitnesspal.com . There are a lot of helpful people on that site who share diet plans, etc with others. best to you.

The simple answer is: Yes. Have you ever heard the term "hangry" before? Make sure you eat throughout the day and stabilize your blood sugar.
