It's seriously bugging me that I can't play music. I used to play piano, oboe and recorders. I had to stop 20+ years ago because I developed tinnitus from a job. Music was very important to me. It transported me to a different world. I sort of died when I stopped playing music. I know it was my conscious decision to do so, but playing aggravated the tinnitus and made it louder and louder. Still... I hear beautiful music and I ache inside. I get depressed because I would rather play the music than listen to it. I still haven't gotten over not having music in my life. I keep hoping that the tinnitus will go away. That's rare. I often don't see the point of living if I can't ever play music again.
Just needed to vent. Really wish this tinnitus would go away. |

Hmm... I know that there are treatments for tinnitus available. Maybe you could try that, and see how it goes? I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. Thank you for sharing

Do you know of any treatments that will reduce or eliminate tinnitus? There is nothing. There is no cure for tinnitus. All treatments are aimed at helping you learn to live with tinnitus. I've had tinnitus for 25+ years. I've done a lot of research on it. I've tried everything. Nothing works except to avoid things that aggravate tinnitus. Loud noises are the primary aggravator of my tinnitus. Playing musical instruments, eating at a restaurant, going to a bar, pretty much any social outing is too noisy for me. Even walking along a road is too noisy.
