My last go around did not turn out so well. But with all the changes in my life I need to revisit coping strategies.

Any advice? red flags I should look for?

Go in with an open mind and positive spirit. Remember that they are there to help you with coping and are on your side. If it just doesn't work out, there are plenty more to choose from.

What didn't go well last time? Working out that might help you work out what you don't want in a new T

I got weird vibe off my last therapist but decided to give her a couple of sessions to see if we could work it out. She could never give me any concrete coping strategies when I asked for them directly. She wanted me to focus on being a wife and mother and letting "my inner child out to play"?

It came to a head after a particularly rough incident with a family member. When I retold it to my T she said: "Well you walked right into that one" I cancelled all future sessions after that

Huzzah!!!!

I like her, I am so relieved. She is letting me guide and direct the therapy, she listens, she is calm, she does not talk down to me

I found a good one!

I just started with my first ever therapist and she seemed okay. I found myself being very anxious and nervous during my evaluation and there are a lot of things now I thought of that I wish I had mentioned.
