The community I am living in is dealing with a bit of fear right now and if you know anything about fear and large groups of people with access to social media and no "adult" supervision you can imagine where things stand right.
SO... I tried to do something! I sent a message to the powers that be asking them them to put a cap on the rumor mill. Reasonable enough request. And I got a form letter back a #$*&^##%^^$E# form letter. I tried a couple more times but got dismissed out of hand. I hate bureaucracy I hate a little these%$@$%^%#@#@ care about the people in their own community. I am going to stop talking now because it is just going to turn into a long string of angry words and yes this relates to my depression I just can't verbalize it right now. JUst grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr |

 That's really messed up on how they reply and aren't replying. Hopefully they get things under control soon! I totally understand about anger being link to depression too.

Not understanding all the details, it sounds like you were trying to do something good, and ran into beaurocrats that messed things up.
