After 4+ years of looking for a job, I am ready to just throw in the towel. I have done everything I can possibly do. I am so angry that Corporate America considers me to be completely useless at age 58. I have more to offer now than ever before, so I find it kind of ironic that I am coming to the table with a full plate of skills, knowledge, and experience, only to be rejected over and over again ad nauseum. What in the world am I supposed to do to survive? Sell my body? This is disgusting!!!!

I am sorry you are in such a tough spot. I wish I had better words of encouragement or at least advice.

Hello Hopelessinaustin: I share your disgust. Age discrimination is alive-&-well in the U.S. &, I would guess, in many other countries as well. Many older people who need to find new employment, if they get jobs at all, end up working far below their skills level. I'm afraid I don't have anything to offer in the way of useful suggestions. But I wanted to at least attempt to validate your concerns. My best wishes to you...

4 years is a long time to be looking for a job only to be more discouraged by not getting the job you so desperatly long for. It is disgusting that at 58 you are too old, with the wealth of knowledge and experience I though that you would be a front runner for any job that you hand your hand too. I am so sorry that things have not worked out, and I don't have any words of wisdom only to say that "life sucks" but what can you do. You have to keep going...... you have too...
Best wishes
