So, does anyone else find themselves slowly descending into hibernation mode ? I started about 2-3 weeks ago.

Yup. Its always the worst time of year for me. I have seasonal cycles and depression hits in Spring and mid summer too but when winter starts it is the worst.

I don't know if it is my imagination but it seems I have noticed more people from Michigan posing. I am of Northern European decent and grew up in Northern Michigan. Even though I lived most of my life in sunny CA Northern MI is in my blood.

There actually could be something to the hibernation thing in terms of evolutionary biology.

SAD is definitely upon me as well.
Its not too bad yet but I can feel that familiar tug.
I'm fighting it this year by trying to keep busy.

I actually feel better in the Winter months. I feel very "exposed " in Summer. Everyone at work is looking forward to the long days that Summer brings but I hate them. Sorry!
Best wishes

As soon as it started getting dark at 6 pm I started lying down and napping out of feeling miserable about the darkness. But now that it's getting dark closer to 4:30 I'm able to stay awake. So, it started very scary but then got a bit better. I am truly looking forward to spring!

It's odd but I actually feel better during the fall and winter seasons. It may have something to do with where I live. Southeast Georgia has super hot six month long summers. I get tired of the heat. Makes it hard to go outdoors. I like cooler weather. Depression can still hit but it is not as bad. I think the fall and winter activities are a distraction for me too.

I live where it is cold. VERY cold. Winters are long. It snows often here. The combo of the cold and short days is very difficult for me. I am attuned with planting and flowers and sunshine. I love rain on warm days as well. AND keeping windows shut is so hard. Its like I am separate from the world. And also this is the holiday season. Full of love etc. I do not have that in my life. So yes, I do have the seasonal blues for sure.

I'm with you on that one. No need to be sorry (to me anyways). Though the one thing I miss right now is being able to go on a bike ride after work. It starts to get dark as I come home.

Though as of now, I feel depressed because I have some health issues I need to work out now. Normally that happens in the Spring, but this time it's happening now at my favorite time of year. But I'll try to get through it.
