I've been very against ever considering the ideal of admitting myself to crisis but lately I don't know. What criteria do you guys normally suggest for a person to start considering in admitting their self to a crisis er or something similar. I've been having frequent suicidal thoughts these past couple months. There are times when my urges are worse than usual and times when they're not as bad. I just don't know if and when I ever will suddenly act on my thoughts. I think by the time I reach that moment, I feel like when I do make that decision...my mind will be set and it will already be too late.

Are you seeing a pdoc or therapist? Do you take any meds? If you are not doing any of those things you should try to do that right away. When you get into one of your worse times, then you should go to the ER and let them help you.
