Hey everyone~
Well, I went to Westbrook facility in order to get help, and the only thing we did was fill out paperwork. My mom dominated the entire conversation, and treated me like I was slow... I started to self harm a few months ago(only 2 of my friends know and have seen the marks and cuts). Now I can't get mental help( I'm only 16) so I'm curious about inpatient treatment and if I should do or not. I know my depression will get(and has gotten) worse from the first appointment, so what's your guys advise?

Is there a teacher, guidance counselor or school administrator you know and trust? Even the front office secretary or nurse would be a good option. If so, I'd suggest you talk to them first. Outline what has happened, as far as you're comfortable.

Failing that, at the facility you had gone too - did you get the name/number of the doctor you'd be seeing? Could you call on your own without your mom?
