I finally went to see my Doctor a few weeks back because I was so consistently low and it was affecting my family life. She decided to take me off Citalopram and try me on Prozac.

I had to gradually come off the citalopram which was really hard and apparently it will take a while before I start noticing a difference from the Prozac.

Its so hard at the moment, I feel regularly confused, the dreams I'm having are so completely weird and vivid and that's when I can actually sleep at all. I have terrible headaches and feel sick a lot too.

I'm avoiding as much contact with people as possible which is hard when I've got to work. People are so damn irritating!

I just want to get back to feeling stable this is so hard!

How long was the gradual Citalopram coming off of?

The prozac is probably causing the vivid dreaming.

The other things may be withdrawal if it is worse than before you quit the Celexa. Like a slower taper may have been better.

I've changed meds a lot and each one is hard to deal with, but it does get easier.

I'm in the middle of a med change too. Changing from effexor to lamictal. Feeling sick constantly & am so depressed right now. I definitely understand what you're going through! Hope things work out fast for you!

Zinco I came off it over a 4 week period but this was what my doctor told me to do but if I'm honest I would have preferred longer.

I'm going through a med change right now as well. Abilify to Geodon, it's supposed to help with depression too along with the voices, but I was tapered off Abilify and tapered up on Geodon and haven't been on it long enough to notice a difference with the dosage change. Started on 20mg of Geodon to 40mg now I'm on 60mg so hopefully this starts kicking in. I felt pretty depressed today, but I'm telling myself to just give it more time. Med changes are always difficult, but time and patience is a virtue. Good luck !

Has anyone ever decided to detox off all their meds and start fresh? I am at a cross roads myself and the thought of trying out yet ANOTHER med is not the most beautiful thing to think about at the moment being the holidays and all. Hope everyone has smooth transitions though.

I feel for you. Changing meds can be a nightmare with all the side effects, and the whole time you're wondering, "When will the new med kick in?" I'm there right now with Lamictal. :-(
