Is it common for males to not tell anyone about their depression more so than girls? I feel it is because we don't like to share our feelings because it makes us feel less masculine. If it isn't common than it is just me but it feels like it is a common thing from what I have heard.

Males have a stereotyped image that tends to make it harder for them discuss their feelings. There is also a stigma around mental health still that alienates them even further. One day it won't be as bad though.

yes that is common i have heard of it. males tend to not like exposing vulnerability as they dont want to be seen as weak or soppy. its a shame.

mental health stigma still has such a long way to go before it becomes easy for people to express their feelings without being judged or made fun of

It's not just you. I keep it a secret and I've never told anyone in my close surroundings. When they make remarks or mention anything about being unhappy, I always deny it or stay quiet. That being said, I've admitted it once to somebody on vacation, because we were having drinks together often and I won't see him again anyway. He then was avoiding me after a few days, so..
