I dunno where this should go.

Today my best friend & roommate was delivered some earth shattering news that he was HIV positive. He is still processing it, I was the first person he told, well he didn't tell, he showed me the blood test results. I am utterly crushed. I am trying to hold it together so I don't show how worried I am about him. I told him that I was about ready to cry, I'm devasted, he means so much to me, I don't think he really knows. Anyways I am so gonna hit rock bottom now, after spending the last 4 weeks climbing out of the pit of doom. I dunno. We will survive, but its gonna be hard, and I now am going to question his mental health as I am sure major depression is going to set in. Anyways.

dillpickle I am so sorry for the grief you must be feeling. That is hard news to digest.

Things have improved a great deal and antivirals are able to help HIV patients to live normal lives for a long time. There is hope. It is no longer a death sentence.

Hope you feel better so you can be there for your friend.

He's fine now, and hasn't started meds yet. The comprehensive blood tests were just done to determine what his t cell count is and to see what drugs will work with him. It will be a couple weeks before he starts his cocktail. I've digested the news and am relatively ok at this point. He is joking about it so he's pretty much in complete denial even though he says he's not. I will stay strong for him. I know they're will be good and bad days and I plan to support him anyway I can. Thanks for your replies.
