I know how crazy this sounds, but I think that the doctors are poisoning us all with these meds. I've stopped taking mine now. I think that if I carry on taking them in a couple of years I'll end up really ill like they'll give me cancer or something. I think they are keeping all the true side effects a secret from me. I know I sound like a crazy paranoid person, but I am really worried that it's true. I don't know if I can trust my doctors to tell them that I won't take them, they'll either think i'm crazy, and what if they try and force me to carry on taking them?
I think they are messing with my brain, I was hopelessly depressed and suicidal, and now these antidepressants have made me paranoid all the time, I don't feel depressed much so I suppose they are working, but now I feel like I'm losing control of everything and like I might be going crazy. What do I do? ![]() Last edited by Wren_; Mar 12, 2015 at 09:09 PM. Reason: added trigger icon |

Wow, it sounds like you have a lot going on. I'm sorry that the antidepressants are causing you so much stress. Personally, I would talk to my doctor and let them know how they were affecting me. Some do have bad side effects, others don't have so many. Maybe as they get out of your system you will start to feel more normal. There are others that have managed depression without the use of medication. And if you don't want to take the medication your doctor should respect that. I urge you to get help though because paranoid thinking is not something to ignore.

I would go to the doctor, paranoiaa may be your side effect.

You should really talk to your doctors / cpn. The reality is that you may need to take meds for a while longer until you are stable, but there is no harm in trying to devise a strategy with them that helps you take as low a dose as possible for a short a time period as possible. Coming off meds suddenly and without medical support isn't advisable.

Your doctor should respect your wishes. Doctors cannot force medication or a certain treatment on you. If the meds you are on are giving you bad side effects, perhaps the doc can give you a different med or recommend a different treatment. Coming off all meds suddenly is probably not a great idea, perhaps tapering the meds down would work better.
