Common advice for someone suffering from anxiety or depression is to not make any major life decisions.
Unfortunately for me, I was in the middle of a major life decision when anxiety kicked in. I ended up making a choice that is out of alignment with who I am. This resulted in severe personal setbacks and triggered a major depression. Additional major life decisions were required once the ball started rolling - all made while depressed. Anyone else been faced with major life decisions while depressed? How did you handle it? |

This is so relatable. Only thing is, I never handled the outcomes of a decision at all. In fact, I'm suffering from a major life decision that could've made a dream come true, but I did it for my family. I gave up on something I've been waiting for ever since I was a little kid.
These decisions are governed by us, no human other than us is forcing them, so it is also in our hands, depressed or anxious, to not make them. I know it is hard, but it can be done. Last edited by RenouncedTroglodyte; Mar 19, 2015 at 01:45 PM. |

I'm depressed most of my life... Treated. But have always been told the same thing - no major life decisions. So that led me to make the choice of not making a major decision that ultimately worsened my emotional health and deepened my depression. So this year I decided to go ahead with making a big life decision. I try to see the end result, the goal I'm looking for. I don't know if this helps you any....

For me, I posted on here on March 15th about wanting to make changes in my life. Here's the link, or you can look up the postings on March 15th; titled "Afraid To Make Changes?"
