I was put on Remeron this past winter when my other anti-depressant lost its punch. I'm curious if anyone who has used or is using has had any unpleasant side effects. It has worked very well in keeping my depression in check..although I put 25 pounds of extra weight on in no time at all. My P Doc did warn that I had a 50-50 chance of either gaining or loosing weight...Im trying to weigh the benefits of being healthier mentally...but physically I know its not good for my heart...joints...ect. Just curious if anybody else can elaborate on this medication....Thanks....Artie

Hi artichak

I have not personally been on Remeron but I do understand when you say "my other anti-depressant lost its punch. That's a really good way of putting it, I hadn't thought how to describe it when my meds aren't really doing what they are meant to do.

Some of the meds that I have been on have also come with the potential side effect of weight gain. This is unfortunate but I like to think that I need mental stability over other factors.

I hope that others are able to come forward with their personal input on this med.

Hang in there.
Thanks for this!

I got an increased appetite as a side effect and I take 30mg. I didn't gain weight from this because I have a fast metabolism however.
Thanks for this!
