Someone else, from the UK put into words almost exactly how I've been feeling (amongst other things... ...
How the black dog of Depression has been with me/following me every day for the past 2 plus years
"Just to remind me that I'll never fly
Just to pretend that I won't scream when I die"

Just to remind me that I'll "never" be "good enough" to achieve any "potential" I may have once had Thank you

"If my life was as long as the moon
If my life lasted only one day...."

GROWL

sorry for the "negativity" ...... Today I saw some light for the first time in so long, NO thanks to those IRL who love to label and blame and then attempt to "justify" that abuse

Depression takes such a toll on our lives. It robs us of so much. I'm sorry you are hurting.

Even for the healthy, "potential" can be a harsh, insatiable god.
For the hurt and hurting, that god grows into a fierce accuser.

Our contemporaries are so obsessed about the future, about "results", etc that they twist the meaning of "potential". Perhaps, our response should be living at the present moment as much as we can.
I am sending you my biggest hug

Fuzzyfriend, I know too well the black dog of depression. For me it is more like a black cloud that ever hovers over me, even to clouding my brain. I continuously hope for better days, and when they happen, I grab on and enjoy it for all it is worth.
