Question: What do you do when depression causes you to lose interest in everything?

I'm not feeling terribly down right now, but I know depression is hitting again because I just can't "get into" anything. I'm a big gamer but all the games feel hollow and boring right now. I skip from one to another in quick succession because I don't feel like I'm enjoying it. I've also tried reading, watching TV and even cooking (yeah I typically enjoy it) but nothing "clicks" for me.

I hate this part of this illness because it makes my days feel so empty... I want to sit around and not do anything. Or just sleep 24/7 because at least my dreams can be interesting... when they're not being terrifying, at least.

It's hard to know what to do when many who read this feel the same way. This feeling also makes me anxious. Maybe get some physical exercise? Change of scenery? Take a warm bath. Call a friend and don't talk about depression, just a light chat. Just a few ideas. Take care.
Thanks for this!

True, I guess I didn't realize that most people who read this would feel the same. Physical exercise sounds like a great idea, though I hate it. Don't have a bath tub so that one's out. And I'd definitely call a friend... if I had one! Guess I'll just keep skipping from diversion to diversion until it passes.

Thanks for the reply though

I know how you feel, but I'm starting to rediscover my love for stuff I liked doing in the past.

I have to thank my dogs and cat for that, If you can, spend sometime with your pets or maybe someone else's pets? I never get tired of them, and they also make me feel young and alive!
Thanks for this!

I agree if you have pets they help greatly. I knit when I feel like you do, which is a lot. Sometimes just getting up and putting one foot in front of the other helps me feel better too
