why is it that when i smoke a cigarette my depression and especially..my panic attack becomes 10X worse?
what is it about cigarettes that amplifies the anxiety and depression in us? i genuinely want to know.. |

I don't know. When I was smoking I never let how I felt stop me from smoking though. Just how addiction is I guess. (Now, I vape instead.)

I believe nicotine acts as a stimulant and only gives the illusion of calming some people down. I don't smoke but I find even small amounts of caffeine can make my anxiety and SI impulses worse

Nicotine is a stimulant, so it's probably that.

yeah its a stimulate that's supposed to calm you down if you've been addicted to cigarettes for the past 15 years like me..but it doesn't calm me down..its the exact opposite of making my depression and anxiety attacks MUCH WORST
