Funny not so much. Well my husband and I did an extremely kind act helping out someone for 6 weeks (thinking it was right thing to do). Ends up it was definitely not for all parties. I would rather not get into the details just not really comfortable with that. Here is the thing the effects on me were catastrophic and I am not exactly sure why. I guess down deep in my heart I should have seen this coming. After the 6 weeks I really took a huge tail spin. Things that I had not thought about in a very long time came back to the surface, had some pretty upsetting flashbacks, and some relationships either ruined or set back almost to the beginning. For me personally the relationship is okay but not for others.

For the last month I have seen my therapist weekly to try and work on this. Thing is if I see my therapist weekly it means that I am in crisis mode which I am/was. I am starting to come out of it. How to move forward from all this and waiting for the other shoe to drop (which I believe will) because of some facts I know that others don't. Hate this feeling some of medications have been adjusted because of all this.

Life is tough and with those of us who have mental issues like depression it seems it is multiplied at times.

Mixed emotions ...

Hi Bonnie, it was much more than "helping out someone for 6 weeks" though wasn't it??!! It was INTENSE!!!
And even if "I guess down deep in my heart I should have seen this coming." you were left in an incredibly difficult position to begin with........so maybe you wanted to focus on the thoughts of this not happening/or trying to find ways to prevent it??
But although the 6 weeks have left their mark, they are up and you did make it through........6 extremely hard weeks. And now you're doing exactly the right thing in moving on, you're focusing on yourself........you've been seeing your T more..........it can just take time. Right now things are very fresh for you, but you are doing really well in starting to come out of it.
And maybe try to focus more and more on those relationships which were jeopardised?? On rebuilding some of those?? Even if you are having to make up a lot of extra ground to bring them closer to where they were before, you deserve them!!!
