Hey everybody!

I haven't been on in a LONG while; things have been going better Depression wise, or...had been, until a while back and I wanted to kind of get some feedback on this odd little...thing that's been happening lately (apart from my usual symptoms that is) and that is I've been removing myself, literally, from picture frames, photo albums, even my Facebook albums have like zero pictures of me at this point that aren't there because a friend/family member tagged me in them. Not to mention family, it's like...I just don't want to exist in their immediate universe anymore, you know? actually...it's like most people want to leave a mark and I'm just here trying NOT to leave one, I guess that'd be the best I can explain it.

I hadn't even noticed I was doing it most of the time, but...I don't know, I'm bringing it up with my doctor on Tuesday but I wanted to know if maybe you guys had any experience with this? Is it even like depression-related?

Hi CherryIEvans, welcome back to PC!!!
And real good that you managed to get some respite from the depression
Remember it can be done/come..........but has anything happened to start "pulling you back" (not that there always has to be anything)?? Anything in your life triggering it or not helping it?? Or any paths you took before that helped you with the depression, which you can revisit a little more now???
But sorry, I've gone on a tangent!!
The removing yourself bit........depression can make you feel isolated/separate from others and make those connections seem pretty meaningless/pointless, it can sometimes seem/feel like just so much effort to keep paths of communication open with others so natural to want to withdraw a bit, it can seem draining when people are communicating with you/you want to be seen as faceless, if those pictures portrayed you in a more "positive" mood then they may seem "fake"/alien to you or discredit how you're actually feeling, maybe places like Facebook are seeming "fake"/alien to you considering the way you've been feeling, maybe (or maybe not) you're hoping someone will notice and ask you about it or at least show they care/that they've noticed?????
Just a few thoughts...........
So good that you're getting help from your doctor.........and don't forget we're here too if you want to talk..........

I can relate to what you are saying CherryIEvans

I found this - I think it's an interesting read - might be useful?
