Do you work? I can't see me working now because my menthal problems is so debilitating... I feel very ashamed about that.

When I was working, I was in a regular job, and I almost got crazy.

And what about you?

I work in mental health despite having serious mental health problems myself. I find it helps to see others who are worse off and learn to be a new person when at work. I think i would go crazy without work.

Yup, I work in IT, have been over 35 years. There were days when I came home from I just crashed on the couch. I tend to be out sick then the average person. Last summer my depression was so bad that I went on medical leave for over 8 weeks from July to late September. My mood has been good so work has been going well.

I work part-time. Sometimes it's tough to manage a job when I'm feeling down, but most of the time I'm glad I have something to do with my time, because otherwise I'd just stay in bed all day feeling sorry for myself.

Hi

I quit my work 2 years ago due to depression. i couldn't take it anymore and i felt wrong for frequently absenting from work. my concentration and memory were very much affected. i learned myself to live a simple life with basic necessities.

I show up at my work place..... but I seldom actually work.

Psycho motor retardation - I believe is the correct term. Basically my depression makes it impossible to focus, to "think", to retain thoughts, to be remotely capable of doing my job.

And even though I really do not like my job, I don't want to earn zero and have NO value to my family. So, I keep showing up.
