Holding it together is pretty hard tonight but I'm with my whole family and I don't 1) want to worry them and 2) cause a scene.

Hi annoyedgrunt, I'm sorry you were having such a hard time
Hoping things a a bit better for you now, but if not, or if you want to talk.............
And if there's another night like last night............you know, maybe your family would like to/want to know if you're struggling so as they could try to help/support you???
And the causing a scene.........I'd say that the way you're feeling is much more important than/matters much more than, the idea of "causing a scene". In fact I wouldn't even see it as causing a scene........you shouldn't have to feel bad about expressing the way you're feeling when you're struggling, you deserve their support
But..........if.........as I obviously don't know your family............then maybe an online crisis chatline???
But either talking to your family........an online to a crisis chatline.........to us.........or to someone else..........please try not to feel you need to be alone with your feelings, they matter!!!

Alison
Thanks for this!

I'm Doing better tonight I just know that when I'm having a hard time it worries my family. Plus my nieces are here as well and I didn't want to scare them. I don't know what set me off last night, I had a five hour road trip I think that gives me too much time to just think, ya know. I tumble stupid scenarios over and over in my mind until I've got myself walking around on the verge of tears.

Well done annoyed, I understand you don't want to worry family, I hope the rest of your time together goes well and is worth it. I would add fatigue to your ideas of why you felt so rough earlier. Best wishes
Thanks for this!
