I'm currently on venlafaxine and Ever since my dose was raised, I've had EXCESSIVE sweating. I understand it's the summer months, but this is the first time in my life where I sweat bullets.
has anyone else experienced this? or is my sweating caused by something else?
also, I started lamictal. and the first dose I took, I felt manic. I had racing thoughts and I didn't sleep for a week. I decided it stop talking it, since I had only taken it for a week, and now I'm able to sleep, but I still have problems staying asleep.
can lamictal cause mania and insomnia? or was it a coincidence that mania started when I took the first dose? thank you so much. I don't have an appointment for quite a while so I need some help.

What is your age? What your diagnosis? Other medical conditions and previous medications? I have been on high dose Venlafaxine before without those or many side effects at all.

I am 20 years old. so far I have MDD and anxiety disorder NOS. but last time my pdoc pretty much hinted that I'm bipolar. I've tried a lot of medications but right now I'm only on Prozac and venlafaxine. I've been on Prozac for two years now.

Your taking Prozac (an ssri) and Venlafaxine (an ssnri) ?
Your taking both medications at the same time? I have not see such a combination used. Did your doctor recommended this combination?

I would not think such a combination is wise. There is something called Serotonin
Syndrome. Sweating and inability to sleep are symptoms which can be caused by ingesting drugs causing serotonin overload. Its possible I have misunderstood your information. If not then I recommend seeking some medical assistance. Quickly.

yes, my pdoc recommended this combination. and now that I think about it, my symptoms have been acting up ever since the increase of my dose. I checked the interactions on drugs.com and it says there is a major interaction. that serotonin syndrome is probably to blame. I'm going to go to the hospital either today or tomorrow.

I'm on venlafaxine and whenever my dose goes up or down I wake up in cold sweats my bed sheets are soaked. ( sorry for the graphic detail). Venlafaxine are not I nice medication when it comes to side effects. It has been the only anti depressants that have worked for me. Sometimes for no particular reason I get these sweats but not very often. Hope it helps!!

I'm on 150mg. I was on 325mg about 4 years ago and have been slowly reduced.

My dosage of Prozac did go as high as 80mg before it pooped out. Thats a high dose of Prozac and a lowish dose of Venlafaxine your taking. I still can't understand why anyone would recommend both. Get a second opinion.

Prozac comes in 20mg pills and the maximum recommended dose is 80mg. Effexor comes in both 75 and 150mg pills. Its looks like too much to me.

I agree the maximum dosage for venlafaxine is 325mg . When I was at my worst I went to that and it sorted me out. Perhaps suggest com come off of one and maybe have a different combination. Do you have anymore symptoms?
