I am second year of college, and I have lots of work to do every day regarding my studies. But most of the time I have no will to do any of it. I'm constantly sleepy, but I can't sleep properly (I would wake up every 2 or 3 hours or have nightmares) and I'm constantly hungry, even though I'm eating more often. I feel miserable and passive, and I don't understand why or where is this coming from, because I'm living a relatively good life. This has been with me for a couple of years now, but only it is now seriously interfering with my schedule and personal life. Or maybe I am just whining about nothing. I don't know.

My advice is to get yourself checked out with a good M.D. to see if you've got something purely medical going on as a first step (if you haven't already). You might be anemic for a purely medical reason, for instance. ![]() |

Hi Dying God, sorry I didn't see this post earlier.
No you are NOT whining about nothing. What you describe sounds like depression, and that doesn't need an obvious reason (or I wouldn't be living with it). Vital is right, depressive symptoms can be caused by physical problems and that needs to be checked out. If it is depression and it's affecting your life, you still need help so you can get your life back, so either way, a visit to your doctor (if you haven't already) would be wise. Be encouraged, depression is treatable even though it feels like it can't change and the majority of people improve or get back to being recognisably themselves. Many make a full recovery. Good luck and best wishes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
