I started on my old stash at 10mg . psych gave me 25 mg . I had to add the ten to it for 35 mg . I have gotten a little better but last night was horrible talking in my sleep, awakenings, deep dread of the dawn and a new day . Back sliding some . Trying to work outside very hard clearing land for exercise .
I want to be tried at night to sleep . Allergic to sssri's , Doc wanted me to go on remeron , i'm afraid of its side effects 2 more weeks before i see him . been down over 5 weeks , self harm reduced thoughts . I am impatient wanting some more relief . I have been told to ask for at least double the amount of amytripline . Or maybe 75 mg , Its an old drug but I seem to tolerate it so far . |

It depends on what he prescribed it for, if to help sleep, lower dose is effective has he told you to increase the dose gradually,or is this your decision. If you increase too fast it can make your blood pressure drop when you stand up, which would make you dizzy each time you stand up. I once fainted on a related antidepressant that I was advised to increase too quickly.

I suggest you discuss your concerns with him in detail, write them down. I once wrote a letter to mine and gave it to him at the appointment when I felt it was important he got all my concerns. He took it well and it saved a lot of frustration. (I have found it is often more productive to make changes with their blessing than without and sometimes they will let you try something even if they don't completely agree. Which he didn't in my case, but let me try and it worked out). Two weeks feels like an eternity, but it will pass each day comes to an end and each morning comes, whether you want it to or not. Hang on in there. I have said a lot without too much information about your situation and bear in mind it is general information, you and your doctors know you best. Good luck, the very best of luck ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
