I forgot about my sugar that had been under control for years , Stress and medication for depression can change the picture quite a lot . It is hot here and I had dry mouth from the amitrripline so i was drinking a lot of water and whizzing a lot . Classic signs that your sugar is high . I was drinking a lot of red wine to calm me down in the evenings . Plus I didn't want to eat but after awhile my appetite returned some . Well I forgot to watch my diet . I get my AIC checked every 3 months and I rely on that as it is your average sugar for 90 days . Well stress and eating poorly will catch up with you quickly .
Its hard to recover if your sugar is high and mine is . Got to work on it . AS usual the wife was right .

Hi lima01, I have problems with it too, I started taking amitriptyline regularly for I don't know how long now, but my sugars are high and I'm constantly hungry and tired. I wanted to switch from another med to this one, because the other one made me hungry, but I think this one is worse! I've gained 25 pounds this year since going on it. With the other I was able to lose weight. I'm also finding I'm irritable.

I never knew until the last few years just how much blood sugar affects mood and health. I can't say I care enough, I've been eating sweets and I don't know how to stop . And alcohol is a no if you are on meds for it. What meds do you take for diabetes? Hugs.
