....you just can't talk about anything real. Not on the forums, not in life, not anywhere - either you aren't allowed, they won't hear, or they just plain don't care. Take your pick. Doesn't matter. It's all the same. "Shut your mouth, put on a smile - when you decide to open your mouth make sure pretty things come out. Good job!"

We need something for sure because I just feel like I just gotta keep bottling things - which is even more annoying because then people say "no, never bottle up anything - always let it out so it doesn't build up" ..
Can anyone say "catch 22" on this? Cuz this sure feels like it at times - not all the time no - but yes - there are definately moments

Well remember, this is just a forum and misses several 'human' quotients. It lacks the subtleties of communcating offline.

As for the offline people around you, what is putting them off or causing their lack of understanding? Can you take people to your Psychiatrist appointments? Are there support groups for support people they can attend? Can you sit down with them and have a discussion about expectations - both ways - and what support looks like. Is there room for compromize - on both sides? Is there a support group you can attend?

Ok - look, several things in your response have actually offended me because the way I read it and interpret it is a perfect example of some of what I was commenting about. All I am going to say is we are both allowed our opinion, I accept yours differs from mine - it seems you do not feel the same.

Or if they do listen they are surprised. Saying you have always been such private person. Never to share things.

Then same old --- get some medicine, go to doctor, contact stops in your time of greatest needed.

Uh..medicine mess me up more - psychiatrist-therapist told me, "You have too many triggers" in not so kinda voice. Uh, yea her words.

Then people wonder why you can't get better. When it's all you want.

Yep - I know the feeling. I went down the road so many times they now get angry at me and say "well what do you want me to do about it? I have given you every type of medication I can!" I now have decided to look into holistic medicine - want to find a clinic, but I still wish I could just find someone to "just listen", you know?

Yea....when I started seeing new psychiatrist. He tried more medicine - after several weeks basically said in less than 2 years you have been on so many medicines. He agreed about me going back to natural medicine like before. Problem is p-doc before that got my body dependent on a Benzo which makes me more depressed (I took as directed.)

Once I'm off (what a battle) I'm going to Chinese Medicine Doctor, and study Tai Chi.

I have started myself on essential oils and really love them - I would like to do special diet n vitamin plans as well but I am living with a tight budget. I am interested in trying accupuncture though.

This morning I saw the post and thought that it was good timing for me to have seen it. I felt like last night I was talking to my friend; and told him that I felt depressed and anxious at being alone. He just said that "well, that's the way you are". And then he said that he had to get going. He told me that he didn't want to continue talking to me if I talk about how depressed and alone that I feel. I felt like that was very hurtful. We have been friends for a few years; and for some strange reason, he feels like I should change or just doesn't want to hear it. And now today I had not heard from him by email at all.

He does not understand what depression (and things related to it) is all about. So many other people are just like that, too. I just wish that I have another friend who would understand it. I did have a good friend at one time who was like me in that regard. We had a lot of good times together.

I guess that people who are depressed and introverted tend to be drawn more towards outgoing, positive people. Especially to those who initiate a relationship. It's nice to be with people who are positive and outgoing. But after a while, things clash. It's a good idea to try to seek out other people who can be like you. But that can be hard to do.

I was glad to read from someone who's frustrated at people who just don't get it.

Lavender helps.

I looked into acupuncture, but they said it could make things worse before better. So long-term goal. Now I look back...worse than seizures? I wish I had tried when I had the money and insurance.

I have had that happen to me many times over - people tell me I need to stop talking to them so much about it. My thinking on that though is - they tell me about each and every problem they have at work or with their family - why can't I talk about my life? I don't know - I guess I will never understand, but when I am not having too bad a time, its ok and I can deal with it. I am sorry you may have lost your friend *hugs*. I hope that he will come back around and the two of you can sort it out. I am glad just seeing others feel the same as you helped a bit though- I know it has for me!
Thanks for this!

Yea I was going to go for anxiety and depression. Just clinic said at first acupuncture could make things worst. Maybe it was just that practice. I need to research again.

Rose sounds like a great addition.

Hi, I rarely come here. But am back due to similar things being discussed here. I think that the gift of listening and hearing is often the greatest gift anyone can give.

I tend to do the natural route. Sadly many of the natural things are not tolerated by my stomach. Still I take natural substances for depression and anxiety. I cannot afford to pay someone where I live. No clinics here. But I am able to figure out some things.

I do take non benzo for anxiety that is RX. And I take klonapin as needed as well. But for anxiety and depression, the rest is alternative. There are so many things out there. Depending on what the person needs. I think its great that you will be exploring this.

I hope you get some good relief. You deserve that. Everyone does. Sometimes the most awesome people are the ones with the greatest challenges. Honestly though half the time I reach out, I get "sucker punched". Makes it so I do not reach out.

Rose actually works directly on depression - lavender on anxiety - both just need inhalation, so you can either diffuse them or hold the bottle under your nose as you inhale naturally (not deeply) a few times - just make sure the essential oils are at least 80% therapeutic grade. I am not sure about accupunture as I have not called about it yet - but honestly even if it got worse before it got better as long as I know IT WILL get better for sure, I would do it - tired of being "stuck" you know?
Thanks for this!
