I can tell things have gotten bad when I become addicted to this site. Things are particularly bad today, the first Monday after the holiday. Mondays are always tough for me, but this one is worse than most. I work from home, but a lot of times there is very little to nothing for me to do. I'm looking at a pretty empty week ahead. Being stuck in this house not knowing what to do with myself is making me crazy and fueling my feelings of uselessness and worthlessness. I feel like there is no one I can talk to about this, even though I have a wife and two teenage children. My wife knows I suffer from depression and will listen, but she is not very sympathetic. So I just needed to share with all of the good people on this site. May all of us have a good year ahead.

Are you still working for that organization you described as "large" and "toxic?" Have you mastered the art (?) of appearing busy and productive, or is that simply too distasteful? Have you read any of the Dilbert comics and books?

You are making a genuine sacrifice for your family. I wish you strength. May this year develop into a better one for you.

Thank you, Rohag. Yes, I am working for the same toxic organization. I have accepted a lot of things about my work situation, but the idleness and isolation are still hard to take. Today will be a struggle, but I will try to keep busy, even doing household chores, just to be accomplishing something.

Thanks for this!

Hi, are you interested in a wild idea? Some people find joy and fun in coloring books for adult. How about giving it a try? Easily take your mind away from things and easy to do as well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, sophie amat. My wife gave me an adult coloring book for Christmas. So far, my children are the only ones using it. I'll give it a try one of these days.
