I hope im not the only one on this forum who has kicked depression and has defeated it once and for all? Was depressed for 4 years and if you tell me that you have it worse or you had it longer you can look the other way. WE are different then most. Most don't understand the word "depression" or what it's like. I was diagnosed bi-polar II and for those who don't know the stage 2 its severe depression. Once I found the root causes for all my depression, I was able to love those roots and love myself unconditionally. When your FINALLY free from all your troubles its almost scary to say its gone

I am so happy you found a way to recovery. Depression is the meanest, cruelest disease. I am afraid to announce that I am coming out of a dark depression for fear it could return. I am trying to think just what helped me overcome a two-year long depression. I know that I left a very miserable job to go to another job. The new job did not work out so I found myself at rock bottom and unemployed. The people at the unemployment office were rude and not very helpful. They acted as if I was imposing on them.
But once I hit "rock bottom" I qualified for cheap health insurance and cheap mental health care. I was able to see a psychiatrist and a therapist. They started me on Prozac. I did a whole lot of praying and soul searching. I applied for jobs with no results. Then I decided to go back to school and study accounting. I had wanted to do this for 10 years but it wasn't feasible to do because I was always working two jobs or working 12 hours a day. Fortunately I qualified for a pell grant. I made 100 in accounting 1100 and 92 in accounting 2145. Then right before Christmas I was offered a part-time job that I can do around my school schedule. I took the job and it is working out well so far. Last night I went to my daughter's house for dinner and she was so sweet. She wrote me a sweet letter apologizing for things she did as a teenager and young adult. It brought tears to my eyes. I gave her a big hug. I love my daughter. God is good. He is answering my prayers. I know I am not supposed to talk about God on here but I can't help it. I believe God has helped me through everything, and I believe He was there through the hard times. I praise Jesus. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I keep the coffee industry going as well. I also think my spoiled dog would miss me if I were not here. Beyond that, we all have something we contribute to this world whether we realize it or not. I help with a church ministry for mentally handicapped adults. These simple folks are so beautiful and they bless me so much by just there presence and innocent love. Everything and everyone has a special place and purpose on this earth.
