Hi all,

I weened off Sertraline over the past year or so and was basically doing 1 50mg pill every 4 to 5 days. This worked fine but then I got hit with some stress, nervousness and combined with other things found myself depressed again.

I've been taking 50mg of the Sertraline each night about an hour before bed for the past 5 days. I have actually had some good nights over the past few (mainly when the kids are asleep and things are quiet). But every morning the same thing: wake up nervous despite nothing changing and feeling confident and great the next morning. I also have diarrhea, lack of motivation at work, inability to stop restless legs, etc.

From what I understand, this is all normal. And I think I experienced this the first time on the pill. That being said, is there anything to help calm your nervous stomach? I am seeing the doctor Monday and would love to hear options from those that have experienced this and if they got out of it.

Thanks!

You probably need to give it some time? Maybe ask your doctor whether taking Zoloft in the a.m. would work better for you. Some antidepressants can cause a bit of anxiety at first, and do upset the stomach. It is normal to have those side effects, and they do calm down. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, I never thought about the morning thing. I used to take my pills in the AM but this go around I thought I should try the night time. I think I started in the day but found I wasn't doing all that well so I switched to night. Is it possible that I am having this increased anxiety because I am taking it at night?

You're welcome. It is possible, ask your doctor. Some meds work better at night, others help and take effect better in the morning. Just my opinion, do ask the doctor okay?
