Hello Nishan: Hm-m-m-m... I don't know the answer to your question. I have struggled with depression my entire life. And the first doctor I saw, regarding some trouble I was having as a result of self-abusive behaviors I'd engaged in, suggested I might have OCD. And I know, myself, that I do have some OCD-like behaviors. So all I guess I can say is that, at least in my case, depression & OCD-like behaviors certainly do seem to go together.

I think OCD is more related to anxiety. You perform rituals and have obsessive thoughts to relieve anxiety. However, anxiety and depression often go hand in hand so OCD can be Co morbid with depression.

The way I understand it (from the outside as I don't have OCD) is that a lot of people with OCD feel trapped by their anxiety and rituals. Feeling trapped certainly can lead to depression.
A lot of people I know with depression may have obsessive traits, ruminating certainly goes hand in hand with depression.

Best of luck as you look for a way forward with your issues.
