*sigh*

I feel like I'm being deliberately being ignored. I know that this forum is slow, relatively, compared to say, a chatroom, but I've been feeling rather upset by a recent event in my life, and posted about it in hopes I could get feedback about how best to deal with the frustration. Nothing. No responses. I'm annoyed and feel like nobody wants to post to that thread. Why even bother if I don't get responses?

It's not that you're being ignored. Some people may not know the right things to say to you or the situation you're dealing with. Trust me when I say you're not being ignored.

Often people don't know how to help, for one thing. It takes the right person to come along to know what to say.

I don't think folks here are intentionally ignoring you. Just hang in here and even contact a liaison if you want to. They try to answer everybody's posts, if they have an idea what to say, anyway. I can assure you that they and many other people here do care.

Where is your thread?
Thanks for this!

I know that, but the feeling that I'm being deliberately ignored is still very real to me, even if it isn't real.

That my dear is a very important piece of info. Get some insights from it. I haven't seen your post but I haven't been here much the last few days.

I've felt that way before here, on other forums and in life. It hurts. The sting of rejection is very painful, even if the rejection wasn't intentional on the other persons side. George H. made a very good observation of what you wrote. Perhaps its worth exploring more deeply. In the meantime, please just know that I doubt anyone deliberately ignored you, and even of they didn't know what to say to help you, I don't think they meant to make you feel this way. I know that doesn't soothe all the damage. Just know that you're not alone and that I'm sorry for whatever was troubling you in your first post. I hope things get better for you soon. Hugs.

There are times when I would feel that way. I've had times when I would start a thread and then go two whole days without a response. And I thought that it would be something that others on here could relate to. I found myself saying, "looks like I'm going to break an all time record on PC Depression forum for never having anyone respond to a thread". But then about three or four days later, a couple would respond and then a few more. Yes, I would have the feeling that I'm being ignored. Like the others have told you; perhaps no one knows what to say.

I've noticed that on here at PC, I would get replies. At other sites I would hardly get any.

I will say that at where I live, I really feel ignored a whole lot. I would talk to people and they would just barely give one word responses. When I go to the pool area, sometimes they would just leave as I'm coming in. Or if they are a couple or a group, I would say something and they would say nothing back. I get the feeling that I'm not very well liked at where I live. Some have even told me that. It really hurts. Funny thing is that it's not a problem at where I work.

Thanks. Here's the thread I posted.

http://forums.psychcentral.com/copin...gry-upset.html

It just gets very frustrating, I suppose.

I viewed the thread but wasn't sure any of my suggestions would be useful, so didn't say anything. I suspect many are like me, not knowing if their advice would be of use to you. Feeling deliberately ignored.....

If I don't know what to say, I feel like I sound stupid so I don't say anything

I also go through this periodically.

I think that it has to do with self-esteem (I probably blame that for everything). Feeling as if I'm not important...

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
