Wow, I signed up in 2013, only posted once. Tried to respond to someone and then saw I can't participate without 10 posts. For someone with depression, that's a LOT! OH, then I see chat. That might be nice. NOPE, 5 . I guess it will be another 3 years till I'm back. All I wanted to ask was if people have anxiety when taking to their doctors or even make appointments. Going to bed since I can't even comment on any posts. What's the point. Pull my teeth why don't ya mods.

ents or even just words, mostly o in the games thread. I know playing games is maybe not how you feel when you are depressed but most of them don't take any mental effort and some new users do this to get to the required number of posts. Just welcoming other new members to PC on the new members thread is another way to do it.

Welcome to PC, I hope you get some answers to your questions.

That doesn't sound right. I was able to message right away. Yes I have anxiety when going to psychiatrist or other care givers. It's like prepping for a job interview. Practice what your going to say before hand. Write down your thoughts and go over them. It's imperative to use the lingo of the profession and be emphatic. Don't let them fill you with all their textbook crap. Always advocate for yourself! Regards, M Poirot
Thanks for this!

I have a decent doc, it's just getting there. Then we set goals and then everything is overwhelming again which seems counter productive. I'm going through TMS now, hope that helps.

And yes, 10 POSTS and 5 for chat now and no posts get posted without a flash message saying it's being reviewed first. What ever.

How many TMS sessions have you had? Any improvement yet? Did you ever have ECT? Hope it works for you!

Yes. I get extremely nervous and anxious. When I talk to my psychiatrist I get so nervous. I was asking if he was going to support me in my fight for disability. I nearly had a panic attack. It was so scary. With my psychologist I get so nervous that sometimes I just agree with what she says because I am so anxious to sit and think my answer through. Hope this helps.

I believe it is some electro stimulus for people with Depression. They are still testing it where I am. I had 14 sessions of ECT. Great experience but didn't help as much as I wanted it to.

TMS it's magnetic stimulation of the frontal area of the brain. It's been around for a while, now insurance is paying for it if you're MDD and tried almost everything. You just sit in a chair and feel zaps for about 20 minutes daily and you must go daily, preferable 30+ days. I've also tried ketamine. I'm just starting TMS. GOOGLE IT, IT will explain better than I can. I have bad side effects to almost all meds. And it is far from ECT and FDA approved.I'll let ya know if it helps me. If not, there's not much left. I was also in a study that treated depression with an anti inflammatory drug and it helped. Hmm. Frankly I think my hormones are wacked for years! Who knows.

Only 4 treatments. No change. Never done ECT since I'm all alone and have no one to help. And if I have bad side effects with memory, I fear not being able to work at all.

Hi, I'm new here, too. I think replying to posts does count. I replied to a number of posts my first day here and by the next day, my posts graduated to "unmoderated" and I was able to join chats.

By-the-way, I think it's only 5 posts until you get "unmoderated." They must have changed it.

There are forums with posts on how to get around here, technical support, etc. And you can message "community liaisons" to help you with questions.
Here's a link to the New Member forum.

And here is a link to the page with the liaisons Scroll down to find the list.
