I have been off most meds for 2 to 3 months. Now things are getting worse. I haven't been able to exercise and now my mood has dipped. I hope I can get out and workout soon. But I just need help now! What's worse is the fact that I may not be able to get into my pdoc for weeks!! A lot think that I am doing well but I'm not. I got in a MVA 12 days ago and am in so much pain that I'm way distracted. I need help but I don't know who to turn too!! And no hospital is not an option!!

Hello puzzclar: The Skeezyks went off of med's about a year ago now, I guess it was. I don't see a therapist. The last time I was in to see my pdoc (towards the end of last year) I told him I'd just come back in again once a year, just to keep my file open. I just gut it out one day after the other. I'm reclusive. No one sees me except my spouse. I try my best to avoid revealing to her how desperate I sometimes feel.

I'm sorry I don't know who you turn to. Perhaps call a crisis line? I never do this personally. So I can't recommend it. But I know it's an option that's out there. I wish I had a suggestion for you. But I don't. Back when I was on psych med's, & couldn't get in to see my pdoc, I was able to get a temporary prescription to tide me over from my general practice doctor. I'm sorry you are struggling...

What kind of healthcare do you have? Are you dependent on VA only? If it's a non-VA HMO, what about changing to a new primary care doc (sometimes you can find new young doctors whose schedules are not totally booked). Once I had a PPO plan that let me go to specialists without a referral; if you had that, you could try a bunch of them until you find one that can see you fast. If you only have VA, unfortunately, sometimes you have to pay out of pocket in emergencies. My spouse has to do that frequently to get the care he needs and he has some benefits. I served on active duty more than 6 years but they say I don't qualify for anything. I hate pain. Good luck and hang on!
