For no depression medication to help? I feel like I have tried most of them and they haven't helped. Would switching psychiatrist help? I've been with this psychiatrist for two years and the only thing he has gotten somewhat right is my anti psychotic and anxiety med. But he hasn't found a working depression med.

I've tried quite a few different meds, mostly SSRI's, in different combinations and strengths and none of them really helped. They did help alleviate the brain fog when I am in really bad shape. I can't work with brain fog, so that definately helped. But I never really saw a big improvement with the depression or anxiety. I am going to see my doctor who has been prescribing for me and ask him to recommend a psychiatrist. I just want someone to talk to at the moment, not going to take any more drugs.

Hello Caelix3: Yes, based on my personal experience, I would have to say it is certainly possible no depression medication to help.
![]() There was an interesting article in one of the PC newsletters I read earlier today. (They come into my e-mail on a daily basis.) It talked about how some studies have suggested light therapy can be effective with depression, as well as with SAD for which it is typically used. Interestingly, in the particular study discussed in this article, antidepressants alone were not more effective than placebo. ![]() Could switching psychiatrists help? I really don't know. ![]() ![]()

I hope that you find some help w/this; I've had some trouble with antidepressants myself - I have not personally found one that lifts the depression by itself. I find most success marrying meds with things like exercise, some socializing, and hobbies, making myself do a little of each, whether I feel like it or not. I hope you find what is effective for you!
