I start class today after a year out due to depression and other factors. I'm really excited to be back but I'm a little nervous. I've recently been feeling a little down so I'm extra cautious about sliding back down. What advice do you have for catching things early and preventing a major episode?

I hope you are all well and hugs for everyone <3

Hugs to you. 💛 I would start a positive journal!

Also listen to only uplifting music to class (that's what I did) and stay away from negative people , no matter how popular.

Hope I helped a little👍

Hugs to you.

Can you make a list of all the nice things people have said about you (maybe add a few of your own if you can) and look at it regularly, especially if feeling a bit low.

Also, just try to do one thing at a time. Maybe list your priorities while you're feeling better
(Eg shower, cook, study tasks and so on) so when things feel more difficult it can help you make a list and work through in order.

I have to do that because of my physical health so I shower certain days and quickly wash the essential parts other days and may take shortcuts on cooking for my husband other times. Sometimes cleaning or tidying the house is a legitimate thing to postpone if it means I can do something else I need to do.
If you have thought about it it's easier not to criticise yourself when you're short of time or energy.

Good luck, prioritise wisely and be kind to yourself.

Thank you. This made me reevaluate what my priorities are. I think making a list will help a lot.

Best wishes. I love the priority list idea. Do your best to keep up with classes and homework. That should take away some of the fear.
