My mood has been a bit on the low side this week but it's nothing major. I'm not suicidal or anything like that... But something happened the other night and I don't know if I should be worried or if it was just a one off...

I was in some kind of weird state that is hard to explain, I wasn't really aware of what I was doing, or fully in control. It was about 1am, everyone was in bed, I was in my pyjamas. I was about to head out of the house bare foot and just walk
Possible trigger:
It wasn't until I made it to the back door and opened it that it clicked what I was doing and managed to stop myself. But the urge was very much still there.

This has never happened to me before. I've been suicidal a lot, I've attempted in the past but it's never been like that. Never so sudden. It scared me tbh. Is this likely to happen again? I don't even know how I can prevent it because I don't really fully remember the lead up to it.

Hello HalloweenSkye: The short answer here is... yes... I would be at least a little bit concerned about this. I certainly don't want to alarm you. But I have some personal experience with spur-of-the-moment occurrences of this type. And so things of this nature do tend to concern me.

I don't think you need to be overly concerned about this. But I do think it would be good to discuss it with whatever mental health professionals you have in your life... not that there's even anything specific to be done about it... but simply to have the opportunity to talk it through with someone. At least that is my thinking with regard to this. Hopefully it makes sense...

Thanks for this!

Just be aware and see what happens. If it gets worse, at least you will know the trigger.

Agreed, be aware... Know the trigger.

Do you happen to be on any meds? This just reminds me of when I was on a new antidepressant years ago, actually for migraines at the time, and it put me in weird states like that at night a few times. It could be totally unrelated, of course, just thought I'd ask.
