(((rainstorm)))

You should probably find another doctor. I know that's not the most helpful thing in the time of a crisis, but you can start a search. As for now, you always have us. We are all here to listen and help you. You deserve a doctor who listens and cares about what you are going through.

find another doctor, yes. i've had a long history of docs who didn't listen to me, but most of all, who didn't understand me - a deaf person with depression. i had to fight HARD to find a psychiatrist who would listen and understand. I'm grateful to have found one, even if it takes my hubby off work to drive 2 hours to go see him once every month. it's worth having a good doc who is interested in helping you. it's really important. i hope you find one. i wish you the best, as well. besides, you always have us here in pc. we're here, always.

I am sorry you feel that way rainstorm. I used to think nothing was worth it but I was given another chance (I can't say second chance as there have been many!) I am sorry that you have been so hurt by your pdoc's actions and oblivion to what means so much to you.

As far as psychiatrists not listening. I agree. On my 4th visit to my last pdoc, she had forgotten my name!

Try to hang in there!

Life is a wondeful gift we are given.
Do you have the use of your arms and legs?
Your sight and hearing?
You already are ahead of the really tragic situations life can deal.
Every day is a new chance to turn your life around...do you think it will happen by a miracle or by working and doing everything in your power to make it happen for you?
There are meds, people, docs and opportunities to change your life.
No one will do it for you tho, you have to do it.

I agree rainstorm, life sucks pretty much, in particular if you get a nasty disease such as depression. Anyway, we are here and we have to handle it, right?

SO, if your doc is a bad doc... that's a problem, but it can be fixed easily changing your doc. Doctors are like mechanics or plumbers. If they don't do a good job, go find another one. It fits perfectly the depressive state of mind to think that if somebody ignores it means I am boring. Thinking like that is part of the disease, you know it, everybody knows it.
So we all look forward to hear about your next psychiatrist.

The best of luck
