I was some years older than the half brothers and the "privileges" or lack of them were entirely different... I didn't even meet them for a ridiculously long time.

(Btw I don't know why I even posted this.. I feel like "just a whiner"
don't air your dirty laundry in public this was indoctrinated into me..don't talk,,you aren't worthy of breathing )

I always wanted to play the piano, however the father was too mean to buy me a second hand piano...

(But I was "mean" and "selfish" )

But naturally the half brothers had a piano...

I would actually have been good at the piano if I'd had a chance to learn it, and as the mother of one of my school friends said when I eventually bought a piano myself before I was thrown out "you'll be able to express yourself through this" or something. She didn't like me, few did, I was "too quiet" ...

It makes me so how I was labelled by a "professional" (IRL)

I wish some of them had the Ability to actually listen

Kind of vital, I would have thought

You didn't air your dirty laundry in public... & since no one in the family wanted to hear it either... you just kept it to yourself... if you knew what was good for you...

You're not "whining". You're hurting and needing to get it out and talk about it, somehow. Don't apologize for it, Fuzzy. If I had a problem with that sort of thing, I wouldn't be a member of PC. We're here to help each other, if only to listen. We're here.

Mud does stick. Worse, some wounds never heal.

Golden Children and Scapegoat??? Your situation is unique, and cannot be so easily "boxed". Still, I wonder...

Did your expressed (?) desire for piano become a weapon in the hands of those who wanted (who needed?) you to feel bad?

Maybe you had to be quiet in order to survive. When everything you say might become a psychological weapon in the hands of those who mean you harm, then "quietness" is safer.

It's sad to hear how your family mistreated you.

You don't need to be quiet here. Say what you need to say.
