At 17, I was binge drinking fairly regularly, got arrested at some point, and committed a few misdemeanors. That same year: I sobered up, met the love of my life, made friends that helped me through all of the dark (they were older because kids my age bullied me a lot) and found a hobby that turned into my passion.
No one person is the same as another. I didn't have a job, the only way I could make money was stealing liquor and selling it. If I would've been thoughtful enough to just do an online survey, my life would have been a lot different. I didn't get my first job until I was 19; jobs are scarce around here. A lot can change in one year, some of that change is out of your control but some of it is. You just have to choose what you do with it.
Right now feels hopeless. I can't guarantee that to lift, but a lot of things are going change around throughout the next few years. Environment never stays the same forever.
I don't know if anything I just said will actually help, but you're not alone in the feeling of "worthlessness".

Sorry you are feeling sad. High school was a long time ago for me but I do remember that I worried about many of the same things that you did. I remember being sad about not having one boyfriend in high school. All my friends were asked to the prom but I was not. I was ashamed and sad about that, if you someone like you had asked, I might have said "yes". Are you in a position where you could take a girl to a movie something like that? (Would your parents let you borrow their car, etc.?) The boyfriend thing really turned around for me in college. So I do not think that you are doomed to be friendless as an adult if you were friendless in high school.
As far as jobs go, maybe talk to your school counselor about options? And have you considered things like this:
Youth Conservation Corps Opportunities | US Forest Service
Job Positions | Grand Canyon National Park Lodges
You would only be eligible for a non career summer job but as someone who has worked for the Forest Service (Youth Conservation Corps and Young Adult Conservation Corps) during high school and college, I found that it gets you into a different environment and you have the opportunity to make friends while working.
So, I hope some of this might be helpful?
Sincerely, Myst

I had a really hard time my senior year in high school, but I had a few good times as well.

Sorry that you're having a hard time.

Don't feel dumb for saying that. In all honesty I think it is pretty cool you are able to make money doing online surveys. I wish I knew how to do that. I'm a grown man & have no idea how to do that. That is something to be proud of. You can sit at your computer & make money. You don't even have to leave your house.
